The Kuari Pass trek, also known as Lord Curzon’s Trail, is a popular moderate-level trek in Uttarakhand, India, renowned for its stunning Himalayan views. It offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural exploration, taking trekkers through forests, meadows, and snow-covered terrains.
The trek provides panoramic views of iconic peaks such as Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, and Kamet.
Day 1 - Rishikesh To Karchi Village (Via Joshimath)
- Drive Distance: ~255 km | Duration: 9–10 hours
- Altitude: ~6,724 ft
- Stay: Guesthouse at Karchi
- Meals: Dinner
- Drive via Devprayag, Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag, Joshimath – scenic and serene.
- Trek briefing & warm-up evening.
- Mobile Network: Strong (Jio, BSNL, Airtel, Vi) until Karchi
Day 2 - Karchi To Akhodgetha Camp
- Distance: ~3 km trek | Duration: 3–4 hrs | Altitude: ~9,264 ft
- Stay: Tents at Akhodgetha
- Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Tea + Snacks, Dinner
- Forest trails through oak and rhododendron. Views of Hathi Parvat, Dronagiri.
- Early acclimatization day.
- Mobile Network: Limited (Jio, BSNL spotty; Airtel & Vi unreliable)
Day 3 - Akhodgetha To Khulara Camp
- Distance: ~3.5 km trek | Duration: 3–4 hrs | Altitude: ~11,070 ft
- Stay: Tents at Khulara
- Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Tea + Snacks, Dinner
- Trail rises through oak & walnut forests to meadows with Himalayan panoramas.
- Sunset and stargazing in the meadow.
- Mobile Network: Very limited (Jio, BSNL spotty; Airtel & Vi mostly off)
Day 4 - Khulara → Kuari Pass Summit → Khulara
- Distance: ~8 km round trip | Duration: 6–7 hrs | Altitude: ~12,516 ft
- Stay: Tents at Khulara
- Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Tea + Snacks, Dinner
- Summit day for 360° views of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Trishul, Chaukhamba, etc.
- Majestic alpine ridge walk.
- Mobile Network: None at summit; intermittent Jio, BSNL on descent
Day 5 - KHULARA TO KARCHI VILLAGE
- Distance: ~6 km descent | Duration: 3–4 hrs | Altitude: 11,070 ft → 6,724 ft
- Stay: Trek ends at Karchi village
- Meals: Breakfast
- Relaxed & scenic descent through forests and village trails.
- Clear endpoint with plenty of daylight left.
- Mobile Network: Good (Jio, BSNL restored; Airtel & Vi also available)
Day 6 - Karchi Village To Rishikesh
- Drive Distance: ~255 km | Duration: 9–10 hrs
- Meals: None
- Drive back via Joshimath, Rudraprayag, Devprayag to Rishikesh by evening.
- Reflect on the trek and celebrate the journey.
- Mobile Network: Consistent coverage (Jio, BSNL, Airtel, Vi)
- Note: Expected arrival in Rishikesh around 6:00–7:00 PM—plan onward travel accordingly.
- In case of any unforeseen changes—like landslides, road blockages, medical emergencies, or weather disturbances—extra charges may apply for alternate transport, accommodation, or route changes.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
- Age: 7 Years.
- First timer can apply; previous trekking experience is more appreciated.
- The trekker must be fit and have sufficient stamina to cover 4 km of distance in 35 minutes without a stress.
- Maximum age depends on your fitness level
- The climber should be able to carry a 10-12 kg backpack.
